Weather and Climate
Cancun is hot and humid. The rainy season falls in summer, while in winter rain is infrequent. The average temperature ranges between 28º and 30º C (82º to 86º F) in summer and between 20º and 22º C (68º to 72º F) in winter. Total annual rainfall averages 1000 to 1300 mm (40 to 51 inches). Winds are usually east to southeast.
Currency and Foreign Exchange
The currency is the Mexican peso. Mexican peso banknotes are issued in 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500-peso denominations, and coins in 10, 20, and 50-centavos, as well as 1, 2, 5, 10 and 20 peso coins. Currency can be exchanged at banks, airports, exchange houses and most hotels. Banks in Mexico are generally open from 9:00 a.m. to at least 2:30 p.m., but withdrawals can also be made at 24-hour ATMs located at shopping malls and banks. The main credit cards accepted at most stores, hotels and travel agencies are Visa, Master Card and American Express.
At the Omni Cancun Hotel & Villas, dollars and euros can be exchanged for pesos at the reception desk at the current daily rate. Traveler’s checks are also accepted.

Long-sleeved “Guayabera” shirts and black pants (trousers). Guayabera shirts can be purchased at reasonable prices at the Parasol Boutique at the Omni Cancun Hotel.
Ladies
Cocktail dresses.
For scheduled congress events, the dress code is sport casual. Cotton or linen clothing is recommended for staying fresh in Cancun’s tropical climate.

There will be a congress hospitality table in the Grand Maya Ballroom at the Omni Cancún Hotel, where attendees will receive VIP Pass cards, a copy of Luxury Avenue magazine, and other printed materials and promotional gifts.
